Mumbai, May 22: Anand Dubey, spokesperson for Shiv Sena (UBT), raised concerns regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s foreign trips during a recent conversation. He pointed out that the public is struggling with inflation and unemployment while the Prime Minister is preoccupied with international engagements.
Dubey noted that Modi has been abroad for the past five days, neglecting pressing domestic issues such as rising prices, job scarcity, and the hardships faced by ordinary citizens. He accused the government of prioritizing appearances over genuine public concerns, suggesting that dissatisfaction among the populace is gradually increasing.
He expressed worries about the economic situation in the country, stating that inflation is on the rise, job opportunities are dwindling, and family budgets are being adversely affected. Dubey claimed that the messages conveyed by the government seem to distract from real issues. He predicted that the public would respond decisively in the upcoming 2029 elections.
On the Kashmir issue, he commented that India should adopt a firmer stance towards Pakistan, asserting that Kashmir is an integral part of India and should remain so. He emphasized that any discussions on this matter must not compromise the nation’s sovereignty. Dubey also mentioned that there were past opportunities to take strong actions, which were not fully realized, reflecting his personal political viewpoint.
In response to Rahul Gandhi’s statements, Dubey acknowledged that opposition leaders are attempting to highlight public issues, particularly inflation, stock market conditions, and economic struggles faced by the common people. He noted that the opposition aims to challenge the government to reach the public effectively. According to him, this aspect of political debate is a fundamental part of democracy.
Regarding the ‘Vande Mataram’ issue, he stated that patriotic songs and slogans should resonate with all Indians without causing division. He claimed that people in different states embrace national songs and patriotic sentiments in their unique ways, showcasing unity in diversity.
Dubey concluded by saying that the public is becoming increasingly aware and is beginning to discern the difference between political claims and reality. He noted that people are no longer swayed solely by slogans; they want to see tangible work and results on the ground.
