New Delhi, March 1: Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has expressed deep concern over the recent joint attack by the United States and Israel that resulted in the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. She stated that the targeted killing of any sovereign nation’s top leadership is highly condemnable.
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra described the incident as a dangerous signal for the world. She warned that such actions could escalate tensions and draw other countries into the conflict. “The world needs peace at this moment, not new and unnecessary wars,” she emphasized.
In a post on social media platform X, she stated, “The targeted killing of a sovereign nation’s leadership and the deaths of many innocent people by so-called leaders of the democratic world is abhorrent and should be condemned, regardless of the reasons given.”
She further lamented, “It is unfortunate that many countries are now being dragged into war. The world needs peace, not pointless conflicts. Those in charge should remember Mahatma Gandhi’s words: an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.”
Priyanka Gandhi also sarcastically remarked, “I hope that after bowing to Israeli Prime Minister and President Trump, our Prime Minister will make every effort to ensure the safe return of all Indian citizens stranded in affected countries.”
She stressed that decisions made by major world leaders like Donald Trump and the Israeli Prime Minister have global repercussions. In this context, she urged the Prime Minister of India to take all possible steps to ensure the safe return of Indian citizens trapped in these nations.
