Priyanka Chopra Celebrates Dussehra with Husband Nick Jonas and Daughter Malti
Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas celebrated Dussehra with traditional rituals, sharing family moments on Instagram with their daughter Malti.
Mumbai, October 21 (Daily Kiran) : Global star Priyanka Chopra Jonas and her husband, singer Nick Jonas, celebrated Dussehra with traditional rituals in Mumbai. The actress shared glimpses of the family’s festivities on Instagram, highlighting their daughter Malti Marie Chopra Jonas.
In her posts, Priyanka showcased the ritual of Kanya Poojan, a Hindu ceremony honoring young girls as representations of Goddess Durga. Little Malti looked adorable in a white traditional outfit, complemented by a red dupatta that read “Jai Mata Di.” During the Kanya Poojan, Priyanka and Nick were seen washing Malti’s feet, participating in the heartfelt family traditions.
One photo captured Nick sitting close to Malti during the prayers, with Priyanka by their side. Another image showed the family in front of their home temple, beautifully adorned with flowers and religious idols.
Malti’s traditional attire, complete with bangles and a red dupatta, drew attention in the pictures. Priyanka expressed her wishes in the caption, stating, “May the strength of Maa Durga, the purity of our prayers, and the spirit of Dussehra remain with us today, tomorrow, and always.”
Priyanka has consistently sought to connect Malti with Indian traditions and spirituality. Earlier this August, she shared a video of herself teaching her daughter a verse from the Durga Saptashati, with Malti attempting to repeat the Sanskrit prayers after her mother.
The couple welcomed Malti through surrogacy in January 2022. Their journey to parenthood was challenging, as Malti was born prematurely and spent nearly 110 days in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).
In a previous interview, Priyanka discussed the emotional difficulties of that experience, revealing how she and Nick took turns staying with their daughter in the hospital. She also shared that Nick would sing to Malti on his guitar, while she played soothing mantras, including the Mahamrityunjaya Mantra and the Gayatri Mantra, near her daughter’s crib.
