New Delhi, August 3: Priyanka Chaturvedi, former Rajya Sabha member from Shiv Sena (UBT), has responded to various issues, including the acquittal of Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh by the Rouse Avenue Court. This case is intertwined with allegations of sexual harassment against female wrestlers and the Ram Mandir donation scam.
Chaturvedi expressed her lack of surprise at Singh’s acquittal, stating, “I am not surprised. Despite the prolonged protests by women and the public, justice has not been served, and he remains a Member of Parliament. When he was denied a ticket, his son was given one instead. Therefore, it is not shocking that there were flaws in the investigation that led to his acquittal today. The judiciary operates based on facts and evidence, and somewhere, there must have been shortcomings in the investigation.”
Regarding Congress MP Pramod Tiwari’s comments on the Ram Mandir, she remarked, “I do not wish to comment on that, as accusations between the BJP and Congress are ongoing. However, it is unfortunate that the government has not initiated a CBI inquiry into the donation scam at the Ram Mandir. Why is the government avoiding this? Who are they protecting? These questions are on the minds of the people. We only want a fair investigation into the theft case, which concerns the entire nation. Citizens feel cheated. The entire trust should have resigned over this issue. The government has attempted to mislead the public by shifting a few individuals around.”
Chaturvedi also addressed allegations of embezzlement amounting to 18 crores at the Shri Siddhivinayak Temple in Mumbai. She stated, “It is very unfortunate that such irregularities are occurring even in a temple like Siddhivinayak. I want to raise a question: Eknath Shinde is the chairman there. If these issues are happening under his supervision and no one is aware, while trustees are writing letters to him, it appears that the thieves are trying to catch one another, involving a group of people. If this is the case, I urge Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to take action and initiate an investigation as soon as possible.”
