New Delhi, May 19: Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to the social media platform ‘X’ on Tuesday to share a Sanskrit verse about Mother Earth.
In his post, PM Modi emphasized that Mother Earth considers all of humanity as one family. He described the world as a home where every culture holds its own significance and respect.
He shared the verse: “जनं बिभ्रती बहुधा विवाचसं नानाधर्माणं पृथिवी यथौकसम्. सहस्रं धारा द्रविणस्य मे दुहां ध्रुवेव धेनुरनपस्फुरन्ती.”
The Hindi translation of this verse conveys that Mother Earth nurtures people who speak different languages and follow various religions and traditions, treating them as members of the same household. It signifies that the Earth should bestow upon us countless streams of prosperity, just as a gentle and loving cow provides milk.
Additionally, on Monday, the Prime Minister shared another verse: “जलबिन्दुनिपातेन क्रमशः पूर्यते घटः. सः हेतुः सर्वविद्यानां धर्मस्य च धनस्य च..” This verse translates to the idea that just as a pot fills with each drop of water, continuous small efforts accumulate knowledge, faith, and wealth over time.
On May 15, PM Modi shared a verse highlighting the qualities of the citizens, stating that these traits are continuously enhancing India’s strength. The verse was: “यथाशक्ति चिकीर्षन्ति यथाशक्ति च कुर्वते. न किञ्चिदवमन्यन्ते नराः पण्डितबुद्धयः॥” This translates to the notion that wise individuals make decisions based on their intellect, strength, and capabilities, remaining undeterred and not looking down on others. Truly, acting in accordance with one’s own strength and abilities is the hallmark of a knowledgeable person.
