New Delhi, August 15: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort, announcing a significant initiative to provide AI skill training to 10 million youths over the next year.
In his speech, Modi emphasized the importance of youth in driving the nation towards a developed India. He stated, “When I talk about a ‘developed India,’ who benefits the most? The greatest strength behind all these efforts is the youth of my country. The journey towards a ‘developed India’ hinges on the immense role of our young population. Today, from the ramparts of the Red Fort, I want to announce that we are committed to training 10 million youths in AI skills, enabling them to lead the world in this field.”
The Prime Minister also highlighted the rapid growth of the aviation sector, which is creating numerous job opportunities through new airports and air routes. He noted, “Maintenance, repair, and overhaul services are generating substantial employment across the nation. We have achieved remarkable success in manufacturing ‘Made in India’ passenger aircraft. The ‘Made in India’ defense transport aircraft, C-295, has successfully completed its first flight. This is a significant achievement for our youth. Drones have also played a crucial role.”
Modi pointed out that the vision for 2047 is built on the strong foundation laid over the past decade. “The goal of a ‘developed India’ by 2047 is based on the capabilities demonstrated by our citizens in the last 10-12 years. This is a vital part of our strength. Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, a quarter of this century has passed, and the next quarter is extremely important for us. We cannot afford to slow down. Our direction is set, and we are determined to achieve our goals. We must change our work culture, elevate our thinking, and increase our pace of execution.”
He also reminisced about the time when India was known as ‘Sapt Sindhu’ and stressed the need for a new approach to build a developed nation. “Today, from the ramparts of the Red Fort, I call upon the nation to harness the strength of the ‘Sapt Dhara.’ In the next 5 to 7 years, we will accomplish what has not been achieved in the last 5 to 7 decades, propelling our country to new heights and enabling our youth to fully participate in nation-building.”
Modi concluded by urging the nation to awaken its collective strength. “The nation is not just the government; it is built when every citizen works together. Can we not set this goal? We often hear about the ‘Fortune 500’; why can’t India have 50 companies in the ‘Fortune 500’ in the coming decade? This should be our aim and objective.”
