Jhalawar, February 14: The police department in Jhalawar, Rajasthan, has dismissed a constable due to alleged connections with smugglers and criminals. District Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar implemented this strict action. The dismissed constable, Ashok Bishnoi, was stationed at the Bhalta police station.
According to Superintendent Kumar, a confidential complaint was received a few days ago. It alleged that on February 1 and 2, 2026, several smugglers and active criminals from Jhalawar and Madhya Pradesh attended Ashok Bishnoi’s wedding ceremony in Nagaur district.
Given the seriousness of the allegations, the SP assigned the investigation to CO Pidawa. During the inquiry, technical evidence and other proofs confirmed that eight active criminals were present at the wedding, which took place approximately 500 kilometers from Jhalawar.
The investigation revealed a significant finding: a person named Pappu Tanwar was also in attendance. The forest department had previously taken action against Tanwar for encroachment. Additionally, his assets were frozen under Section 68F of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act as they were deemed illegally acquired. The investigation report clearly indicated that Constable Ashok Bishnoi’s conduct violated the core values, code of conduct, and integrity expected in police service.
SP Amit Kumar stated that maintaining the credibility, impartiality, and trust of the public in the police force is paramount. Any collusion with criminals will not be tolerated. This strict action was taken under the department’s zero-tolerance policy. The dismissal order has been implemented immediately.
Furthermore, the department clarified that any such complaints will be promptly and fairly investigated to uphold the police’s image.
