Anant Singh Ordered to Surrender by Supreme Court by December 1
The Supreme Court has ordered Anant Singh to surrender by December 1, overturning his previous bail related to a murder case.

New Delhi, October 30 (Daily Kiran) : In a significant ruling, the Supreme Court has instructed Anant Singh, the expelled legislator from the Janata Dal United (JDU), to surrender by December 1. This decision follows a petition challenging the revocation of his bail in connection with the murder case of Dularchand Yadav.
Singh, a prominent figure from Mokama, was granted bail by the High Court, which has now been contested by Neeraj Kumar, the grandson of the deceased, in the Supreme Court. The apex court has also mandated the completion of the investigation into this murder case within four months.
The incident occurred during the Bihar Assembly elections in 2025, when Dularchand Yadav, a supporter of a candidate from the Jan Suraj Party, was murdered in the village of Basawan Chak in Patna district. Reports indicate that a violent clash erupted between supporters of Anant Singh, the then JDU candidate, and Piyush Priyadarshi, the Jan Suraj Party candidate.
Witnesses allege that the attackers, identified as Dharmveer Singh and Karmveer Singh, forcibly dragged Yadav from his vehicle. The victim’s family claims that the assailants deliberately ran him over and shot him.
Although the post-mortem report indicated that the cause of death was not gunshot wounds but rather cardio-respiratory failure, the injuries observed were consistent with being struck by a heavy vehicle. Anant Singh was arrested in connection with this case.
Initially, the MP-MLA court denied Singh’s bail application. However, the Patna High Court granted him bail on March 19, leading to his release from jail on March 23. Remarkably, Singh contested the assembly elections while incarcerated, defeating Veena Devi, the wife of former MP Surajbhan Singh. He even managed to vote in the Rajya Sabha elections from jail.
