Police Arrest Three Criminals After Encounter in Pushp Vihar, New Delhi

New Delhi, June 6: In a significant operation, police in Pushp Vihar, South Delhi, arrested three criminals following an encounter. Two of the suspects sustained gunshot wounds to their legs and were transported to a hospital for treatment.

The Delhi Police’s Special Staff and AATS teams successfully apprehended the trio, who were involved in a recent extortion-related shooting incident in Lado Sarai. They had been on the run since the event.

Authorities reported that they received intelligence about the criminals’ whereabouts. Under the leadership of Special Staff Inspector Anuj Kumar, a joint team was formed to set a trap. During the operation, the wanted criminals opened fire on the police, prompting a response from law enforcement.

According to police, the assailants fired approximately six rounds at the team. Fortunately, the bullets struck the bulletproof vests of Head Constables Sandeep and Arvind, leaving them unharmed. In the police’s counteraction, two suspects were shot in the legs, while the third was successfully captured. The arrested individuals have been identified as Rakesh alias Raka, Sonu alias Adda, and Pachan Bharat.

Officials indicated that all three were active members of the Prince Tevatia gang. The police have intensified their efforts to take further action against the accused.

In a related incident, police in Ghaziabad, adjacent to Delhi, arrested a criminal with a bounty of ₹50,000 after an encounter. The Loni police received a tip-off about the wanted criminal, Omkar Singh, who was involved in a kidnapping case from May 30. Upon receiving this information, the police set up a checkpoint.

During the operation, a man on a motorcycle was spotted coming from Nithora. When signaled to stop, he fled instead. The police pursued him, but his motorcycle skidded. In an attempt to escape, he fired at the police with the intent to kill. In self-defense, the police shot him in both legs, and he was subsequently sent to the hospital for treatment.
