PM Modi to Inaugurate Halwara Airport Virtually on February 1, Boosting Punjab’s Trade

Ludhiana is set to receive a significant boost with the inauguration of Halwara Airport on February 1. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually inaugurate the airport during his visit to Punjab, according to official information shared by Ludhiana’s Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain.

The completion and readiness of the airport have generated excitement not only within the administration but also among the business community. Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain confirmed that he personally inspected the fully constructed airport. He added that the Prime Minister’s office informed them through a phone call about the virtual inauguration scheduled during the Punjab visit. All necessary arrangements have been completed, and the Airport Authority has officially communicated that flight services will commence immediately after the inauguration. This development is expected to significantly strengthen the region’s air connectivity.

The business community in Ludhiana has welcomed the news with enthusiasm. Traders said that the airport’s opening fulfills a long-standing demand and will provide a major boost to commerce. Until now, many businesspeople arriving from abroad avoided Ludhiana due to the lack of direct air connectivity, but this new facility will resolve that challenge.

Local traders believe that the airport will facilitate quicker travel for businessmen coming not only from overseas but also from other parts of India. This improved connectivity is likely to accelerate industrial growth, exports, and commercial activities. They expressed hope that the operational airport will enhance Ludhiana’s industrial reputation and directly benefit Punjab’s overall economy.
