
New Delhi, October 8 (Daily Kiran) : Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 10th edition of the India Mobile Congress (IMC) on October 8, 2026, at the India International Convention and Expo Center in Dwarka. The event, running from October 7 to 10, has attracted telecom operators, experts, academia, and startups from around the globe, marking a significant gathering in the tech industry.
During his address, PM Modi noted the significance of the date, celebrating Air Force Day and honoring the nation’s brave airmen. He expressed gratitude to all citizens and friends of India for their well-wishes, coinciding with his 25 years of service as a head of government.
The Prime Minister also paid tribute to the late renowned actor Nana Patekar, who passed away earlier that day. Modi described Patekar as a remarkable artist whose life embodied the pride and dignity of the Indian flag. He praised Patekar for his impactful roles and his ability to address societal issues through cinema, calling him a revolutionary voice against injustice.
Modi further discussed the advancements in 5G technology, recalling the launch of 5G in India from the same platform in 2022. He highlighted that mobile internet speeds have increased tenfold compared to 2022, showcasing the rapid development in the telecommunications sector.
