New Delhi, April 27: Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the significance of selfless service on Monday, stating that it forms the foundation of a strong and compassionate society. He urged citizens to inspire one another through acts of goodwill.
In a post on the social media platform X, he wrote, “The true strength of the nation lies in the selfless service of its citizens. This encourages people to motivate each other and enriches our society.”
Modi also shared a Sanskrit verse that translates to: “Trees endure the scorching sun yet provide shade to others. Their fruits are for others as well. Trees are selfless and noble, always offering comfort and support to others.”
Earlier, on Sunday, before his election rally, Modi visited the Matua Thakur Temple in Thakurnagar, North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. He reminisced about his meeting with Binapani Devi, the head of the Matua community. Sharing a photo from his 2019 visit, he recalled receiving blessings from “Boro Ma” during his previous trip to the temple.
While addressing a rally in Thakurnagar, Modi spoke about his visit to Orakandi, describing it as a deeply emotional experience. He reflected on praying at the temple and meeting members of the Matua community, noting that the compassion shown by Binapani Devi left an indelible impression on him.
The Prime Minister also shed light on the implementation of the Citizenship Amendment Act, 2019, emphasizing its aim to grant citizenship to communities like the Matua. He referenced Shyama Prasad Mukherjee’s advocacy for the rights of refugees from East Bengal, asserting that ensuring their rights is a historic obligation for India.
