
Abu Dhabi, May 15: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in the capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as part of his five-nation tour. Upon arrival at the airport, PM Modi was honored with a guard of honor.
During a delegation-level meeting with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, both countries exchanged memorandums of understanding (MOUs), including one on strategic petroleum reserves.
PM Modi expressed gratitude for the escort provided by the UAE Air Force, stating that it reflects the respect of the Indian people. He also acknowledged the UAE’s compassion towards families affected by recent natural disasters.
Addressing the current situation in the Middle East, PM Modi strongly condemned the attacks on the UAE, stating that such actions are unacceptable in any form. He praised the restraint and courage shown by the UAE leadership during these challenging times and commended their efforts to maintain national unity, security, and regional integrity.
He noted that the impact of the war conditions in West Asia is felt worldwide. India has always prioritized dialogue and diplomacy to resolve issues. Keeping the Strait of Hormuz free, open, and secure is a major priority. Adhering to international laws is essential in this regard. India stands shoulder to shoulder with the UAE in all circumstances and is prepared to provide every possible assistance for the restoration of peace and stability.
On social media platform X, PM Modi expressed his gratitude to Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for the warm welcome at Abu Dhabi Airport. He looks forward to advancing India-UAE relations in energy, investment, supply chains, and other key areas.
