PM Modi Advocates for Altruism and Welfare in Recent Social Media Posts

New Delhi, August 19: Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared a profound message on social media platform X on Wednesday, emphasizing the importance of altruism and welfare-oriented actions.

In his post, he quoted a Sanskrit verse: “एतावज्जन्मसाफल्यं देहिनामिह देहिषु. प्राणैरर्थैर्धिया वाचा श्रेय एवाचरेत्सदा॥” This translates to, “The true fulfillment of human life lies in performing altruistic and welfare-oriented actions through one’s physical strength, wealth, intellect, and speech.”

On Tuesday, he shared another verse: “उद्यच्छेदेव न नमेदुद्यमो ह्येव पौरुषम्. अप्यपर्वणि भज्येत न नमत्वेव कस्यचित्॥” The essence of this verse in Hindi conveys that one should live with self-respect, courage, and dignity. True valor lies in not compromising one’s principles and values, but rather standing firm with truth, patience, and self-esteem.

Earlier on Monday, the Prime Minister highlighted the power of collective resolve and unity, stating, “Only through collective determination and unity can a nation progress. This spirit is the strong foundation of India’s growth and prosperity.” He also shared a verse: “समानी व आकूतिः समाना हृदयानि वः. समानमस्तु वो मनो यथा वः सुसहासति॥” which means that our resolutions should be unified, and our hearts should be connected in a spirit of togetherness, enabling us to strive for societal advancement through cooperation and equality.

On August 14, he had previously shared a message commemorating the Partition Horrors Remembrance Day, honoring all citizens who contributed to the nation’s progress despite the challenges faced during that tumultuous period. He urged everyone to strengthen the national spirit of goodwill and unity.
