What Is PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana?
Launched by the Government of India, the PM Kisan Yojana provides financial assistance of ₹6,000 annually to eligible farmers in three equal installments of ₹2,000 each. The aim is to provide direct income support to small and marginal farmers to manage agricultural expenses and boost rural income.
Check These Before the Next Installment Is Credited
To receive the upcoming 22nd installment, farmers must ensure certain criteria are met. The government has made it clear that without completing these steps, the installment amount will not be credited:
-
Land Ownership – The applicant must be an Indian citizen and possess cultivable land registered in official land records.
-
Aadhaar-Bank Account Linking – The bank account linked with the PM Kisan scheme must be connected with the beneficiary’s Aadhaar card.
-
KYC Completion – Most critically, the e-KYC (Know Your Customer) process must be completed.
Failure to meet these conditions may result in delayed or denied payments.
Why KYC Is Mandatory for PM Kisan Beneficiaries
KYC verification ensures that the funds reach the genuine and eligible farmers only. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, non-KYC compliant accounts will be excluded from future transfers.
Farmers who haven’t completed their e-KYC are advised to act immediately. They can visit the official PM Kisan portal at pmkisan.gov.in and complete the verification using the OTP sent to their Aadhaar-linked mobile number.
How to Check If the ₹2,000 Installment Is Credited
Once the 22nd installment is released, beneficiaries can check their payment status by:
-
Visiting the official website: pmkisan.gov.in
-
Clicking on the ‘Beneficiary Status’ section.
-
Entering either Aadhaar number, account number, or mobile number to get real-time updates on payment status.
It’s important to note that there is no need to visit a government office or pay any intermediaries. The process is entirely free and accessible online.
Why Timely Action Matters
With over 10 crore beneficiaries in the pipeline, ensuring that personal details and KYC information are accurate and up-to-date is crucial for uninterrupted benefits. The government is focused on transparency and accountability, and every eligible farmer must fulfill their part to avoid missing out.
