Pakistans Sahibzada Farhan Breaks Abhishek Sharmas T20 Record

New Delhi, October 14 (Daily Kiran) : In a remarkable achievement, Pakistan’s captain Sahibzada Farhan has eclipsed Indian opener Abhishek Sharma’s T20 record. This milestone was reached during Pakistan’s recent three-match T20 series against Sri Lanka, which Pakistan won 2-1.

Farhan’s performance was exceptional, as he scored a total of 238 runs across all three matches, including half-centuries in each game. This feat has now earned him the record for the most runs in a three-match T20 series. Previously, Abhishek Sharma held the record with 229 runs scored against Afghanistan in a recent series.

Following Farhan on the list are New Zealand‘s Colin Munro, who scored 223 runs against the West Indies in the 2023-24 season, and Australia’s David Warner, who amassed 217 runs against Sri Lanka in 2019. Afghanistan’s Hazratullah Zazai rounds out the top five with 204 runs against Ireland in 2019.

Although Pakistan clinched the series by winning the first two matches, they faced a setback in the third game, where Sri Lanka triumphed by eight wickets. After his team’s victory and being named Player of the Tournament, Farhan expressed his commitment to maintaining high performance. “I strive to play well consistently. When I perform well, I focus even more on the next match. Cricket is unpredictable; you cannot always be in form, so I aim to make the most of my opportunities,” he stated.

Sahibzada Farhan has emerged as a reliable batsman for Pakistan in T20 cricket, having scored 1,554 runs in 51 matches, including two centuries and 13 half-centuries.
