Over 25,000 killed in UP road accidents in two years

New Delhi, April 6 : A total of 25,507 people were killed in road accidents on national highways crisscrossing Uttar Pradesh between 2018 and 2020, a data showed. The data issued by the on Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari in response to a question in Rajya Sabha on Wednesday, showed 8,818 lives were lost in 2018; in 2019 it was 8,830 and 7,859 in 2020. During these years, a total of 46,074 road accidents were reported on highways across the state. In 2018, 16,198 road accidents were reported and 16,181 in 2019, the data showed.
