Opposition Gears Up for Historic Rally at Ramleela Maidan on November 1
Bhupesh Baghel highlights key demands ahead of the historic rally at Ramleela Maidan, set for November 1.

Raipur, October 31 (Daily Kiran) : In Raipur, preparations are in full swing for the opposition rally at Delhi’s Ramleela Maidan scheduled for November 1. Chief Ministers from Congress-ruled states and several former Chief Ministers are expected to attend. Senior Congress leader Bhupesh Baghel has emphasized that this rally will be significant and historic.
Speaking to the media, Baghel stated that the event will draw national and international attention. The rally aims to present three key demands to the government.
The first demand is the removal of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. The second is to annul the process that led to the deletion of 13 crore voters’ names under the Systematic Voter Registration (SVR). Lastly, the Congress party is advocating for elections to be conducted using ballot papers.
Baghel also responded to a statement by Union Minister JP Nadda regarding illegal immigrants. He questioned how many of the approximately 2.5 million names deleted in Chhattisgarh during the SVR were actually Bangladeshi citizens, and how many were apprehended or deported. He pointed out that despite raising this issue in three separate assembly sessions, the government has yet to provide a satisfactory answer.
He criticized BJP leaders for using the fear of Bangladeshi infiltrators and Rohingyas as a pretext for disenfranchising genuine citizens. This issue extends beyond voter IDs, potentially impacting access to government schemes and citizenship in the future.
Congress MP Imran Pratapgarhi has claimed that millions will join the rally, marching alongside Rahul Gandhi. The event at Ramleela Maidan promises to be a massive gathering where the opposition will voice their demands.
