Odisha Chief Minister Visits Key Manufacturing Units in Khurda

Bhubaneswar, May 24: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi visited major manufacturing units located in the industrial parks of Khurda district on Sunday.

According to an official statement, the Chief Minister’s visit highlighted the government’s robust ecosystem support, spanning from employment-driven sectors to high-tech strategic manufacturing.

Majhi first toured Trimetro Garments, a leading apparel manufacturer situated in the Kalibeti industrial area of Khurda. Marking its first presence in India, the company has established a state-of-the-art facility in Khurda district with an investment of approximately ₹376 crores. The foundation stone for the project was laid on April 3, 2025, and it was inaugurated in less than a year.

This unit, which manufactures garments for the globally renowned fashion brand Uniqlo, has positioned Odisha prominently on the global apparel manufacturing map. The project has created significant employment opportunities, generating over 7,000 jobs, most of which are held by women.

The Chief Minister later visited the Mundamba industrial park facility of Anadron Systems Private Limited, which plays a crucial role in strategic defense manufacturing. With an investment of ₹96.86 crores and a potential to employ 165 people, this company produces advanced defense systems.

During his visit, Majhi reviewed the operations of cutting-edge defense equipment currently being manufactured at the Khurda facility, including aerial targets, target launchers, ground support equipment, and ground stations.

At both industrial units, the Chief Minister engaged in detailed discussions with promoters, senior officials, and staff, reviewing the operations, production activities, employment generation potential, and future expansion plans of the establishments.

While interacting with employees, Majhi emphasized the need for developing essential facilities for workers and staff in industrial areas. He advised management officials of industrial establishments to focus on skill development for Odisha’s youth and prioritize local employment opportunities.

The Chief Minister further assured that the government would ensure all necessary measures for the safety, security, and welfare of female employees working in industrial units.
