
Bhubaneswar, May 8: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Chara Majhi expressed deep sorrow on Thursday regarding the murder of a young man in the Balijanta area of Bhubaneswar. He has ordered strict action against the perpetrators and warned against the recurrence of mob lynching incidents.
CM Majhi spoke with Director General of Police Y.B. Khurana, directing a thorough investigation into the incident and ensuring strict measures against those responsible. He also advised police and law enforcement agencies to remain vigilant to prevent any future occurrences of mob lynching or crowd violence in the state.
He instructed the police to take all possible stringent actions to maintain law and order in Odisha.
According to official reports, the police have arrested four individuals in connection with the incident, and the investigation is ongoing.
The Chief Minister also discussed the matter with Shobhana Mohanty, the chairperson of the State Women’s Commission.
Officials indicated that Mohanty will visit Balijanta on Friday. During her visit, she will speak with women who allegedly faced harassment during the incident and will investigate all aspects of the case to uncover the facts.
