Notorious Criminal Kallu Killed in Major Police Operation

Lucknow, February 28: A significant operation by the Uttar Pradesh STF’s Noida unit and Agra police has resulted in the death of notorious criminal Pawan, also known as Kallu.

On February 27, 2026, a joint team from the STF and Agra police engaged in a major operation in the Ekta police station area, where they encountered Kallu. During the encounter, he was injured and subsequently arrested. Despite immediate medical attention, he succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.

Kallu was identified as the son of Santaram, residing in Sirouli, Ghaziabad district. He was wanted in a case of extortion registered at the Tajganj police station in Agra, with a reward of ₹50,000 announced for his capture. According to police reports, Kallu was an active shooter for the notorious Randeep Bhati – Amit Kasana gang, which has been identified by the government.

He faced over 18 criminal cases, including four for murder and two for extortion. Notably, in 2021, a reward of ₹1 lakh was placed on him for a murder case, leading to his arrest in Delhi.

While in prison, Kallu reportedly connected with the infamous Himanshu Bhau gang from Haryana. After his release in 2025, he resumed demanding extortion on a large scale. Authorities suspect he was planning significant criminal activities in Delhi and western Uttar Pradesh in collaboration with this gang.

During the encounter, a substantial cache of ammunition and firearms was recovered from Kallu. Notably, a 9mm pistol found at the scene was stolen from constable Monu Dhiman in 2016 during a robbery in the Bisrakh area of Gautam Buddh Nagar. A case related to this incident is registered under FIR number 247/16, sections 279/337/392/427 of the IPC.
