North Delhi Strikers Triumph Over New Delhi Tigers in DPL 2026 Showdown

New Delhi, August 10: In an exciting day of matches at the Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2026, the North Delhi Strikers secured a convincing 7-wicket victory against the New Delhi Tigers. Meanwhile, the Central Delhi Kings triumphed over the South Delhi Superstars in a high-scoring match, winning by 4 wickets. Both games took place at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

The Central Delhi Kings lead the points table with 5 wins out of 6 matches, while the North Delhi Strikers sit in third place with 2 wins from 4 matches. The New Delhi Tigers have struggled, losing 4 out of 5 matches and currently occupy the seventh position. The South Delhi Superstars are in sixth place after losing 3 out of 5 matches.

In the first match of the day, the New Delhi Tigers batted first after losing the toss, scoring 161 runs for the loss of 8 wickets. Hrithik Shaukeen was the top scorer with 35 runs, while opener Atulya Pandey contributed 32 runs. Aryan Sharma added 25 runs to the total. From the opposing side, Vikas Dikshit took 3 wickets for 28 runs.

In response, the North Delhi Strikers chased down the target in just 19.1 overs. Captain Sarthak Ranjan and Vaibhav Kandpal set the foundation for victory with a 102-run partnership for the first wicket off 70 balls. Vaibhav scored 41 runs off 36 balls, while Sarthak made 65 runs, hitting 5 sixes and 3 fours. Bharat Sindhwani remained unbeaten on 24 runs, and Yash Dabas added 14 runs. In the second match, the Central Delhi Kings also emerged victorious. Batting first after losing the toss, the South Delhi Superstars amassed 220 runs for 6 wickets in their 20 overs. Sanat Sangwan scored 38 runs, partnering with captain Ayush Badoni, who made 44 runs, for a 72-run second-wicket stand off 39 balls. Pranav Pant added 29 runs, while Tejaswi Dahiya scored a remarkable 69 runs off 31 balls, including 8 sixes and 1 four. From the Kings, Moni Grewal and Gavnish Khurana each took 2 wickets.

Chasing a massive target, the Central Delhi Kings clinched the match in 19.4 overs. They lost 3 wickets for just 62 runs but recovered with a 96-run partnership between Yugal Saini and Keshav Dabas for the fourth wicket. Keshav scored 39 runs off 27 balls, while Yugal shone with 91 runs off 45 balls, hitting 6 sixes and 9 fours. Vansh Bedi contributed an unbeaten 21 runs to seal the victory. Anshuman Hooda was the standout bowler for the Superstars, taking 3 wickets, while Rishabh Sharma claimed 2.
