Noida, September 5 (Daily Kiran) : In a significant bust, Noida police have arrested four individuals linked to a mobile phone theft gang. The operation, conducted on September 5 in Sector 63, led to the recovery of 24 stolen mobile phones, a stolen motorcycle, ₹2,000 in cash, two illegal knives, and seven small sharp knives.
The police acted on local intelligence and confidential information regarding the gang’s activities near the underpass leading to Garhi Gol Chakkar. Upon arriving at the scene, they successfully apprehended the suspects, identified as Sikkhu Rajkumar, Raja, Rishabh, and Shyam Sahu.
During interrogation, the suspects revealed their modus operandi. They would scout residential buildings and colonies with high foot traffic, identifying open rooms to target. Once inside, they would steal mobile phones, laptops, and other valuables.
According to police, when the gang accumulated a significant number of stolen phones, they sold them to passersby at lower prices, dividing the proceeds among themselves. Authorities are now investigating the extent of the gang’s activities and the identities of individuals who purchased the stolen items.
Sikkhu Rajkumar, originally from Muzaffarpur, Bihar, is 20 years old and resided in Chotpur Colony. Raja, 19, hails from Prayagraj and also lived in Chotpur Colony. Rishabh, another 19-year-old, is from Farrukhabad, while 28-year-old Shyam Sahu is from Kaushambi, both currently residing in the same area.
In addition to the stolen phones, police recovered a motorcycle and cash from the suspects. They also seized illegal knives from Sikkhu and Raja. Investigators are continuing to question the suspects to uncover additional members of the gang and gather information on other thefts. Efforts will also be made to identify the rightful owners of the recovered mobile phones and return them.
Authorities have stated that they are examining the suspects’ criminal network and those involved in the sale of the stolen goods.
