Uddhav Thackerays Remarks Ignite Political Tensions in Maharashtra
Uddhav Thackerays comments on Hindutva spark criticism from BJP leader Ram Kadam, escalating political tensions in Maharashtra.

Mumbai, October 21 (Daily Kiran) : Uddhav Thackeray, the leader of Shiv Sena (UBT), stirred political controversy in Maharashtra with his remarks during a recent Dussehra event. He emphasized the need for a saffron presence not just in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, but also in Delhi. This statement drew sharp criticism from BJP leader Ram Kadam.
Kadam accused Thackeray of showing signs of fear regarding “Operation Tiger Three,” suggesting that Thackeray has abandoned Hindutva and now regrets that decision. Kadam claimed that Thackeray’s repeated mentions of saffron and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj during his speeches reflect his remorse.
The BJP leader also criticized Thackeray for previously supporting individuals like Umar Khalid, who has been vocal against Hinduism. Kadam pointed out the contradiction in Thackeray’s alliance with Rahul Gandhi, who has linked saffron to terrorism, calling it a double standard.
Kadam further noted that Thackeray’s recent Dussehra rally failed to attract a significant crowd, alleging that those who attended were paid to be there. He remarked on the lack of enthusiasm among attendees, suggesting that Thackeray’s despair was evident in his speech. He argued that if Thackeray had not forsaken his father Balasaheb Thackeray’s ideology, such regret would not be apparent.
In response to Thackeray’s comments about the Mumbai police, Kadam expressed strong disapproval, questioning the appropriateness of comparing the brave police force to a fox. He suggested that Thackeray’s remarks stem from desperation and that if he feels the police are inadequate, he should relinquish their protection.
Kadam urged Thackeray to apologize to the Mumbai police, highlighting their dedication to public service. He insisted that if Thackeray does not apologize, he should voluntarily return his police security.
Additionally, Kadam criticized Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut’s comments about Home Minister Amit Shah, claiming Raut’s party is so fearful that they constantly mention Shah and Prime Minister Modi to remain relevant in national news.
He attributed the decline of Raut’s party to his boastfulness and stated that the remaining members would likely join “Operation Tiger Three.” Kadam emphasized that the BJP does not take them seriously.
On the economic front, Kadam praised India’s growth under Prime Minister Modi, noting that the country has risen from the 11th to the 4th largest economy and is on track to become the third largest. He cautioned against individuals attempting to spread chaos and violence funded by enemy nations, urging unity to strengthen India’s economic position.
Regarding the judicial custody of CJP leaders Saurabh Das and Ashutosh Ranka, Kadam asserted that the law operates based on its provisions, not on status. He questioned the necessity of protests in prohibited areas, suggesting that the aim was merely to garner attention.
He concluded by stating that no one is above the Constitution and the law, highlighting the negative impact of protests on public order and commerce. Kadam pointed out that the death of an elderly person during a protest in Shivaji Park underscores the need for respect for legal frameworks.
