Noida, September 24 (Daily Kiran) : In a bid to enhance cleanliness and curb illegal waste collection, the Noida Authority conducted a surprise inspection late at night on September 23. This initiative aimed to strengthen the city’s waste management system. Under the directives of the Chief Executive Officer and General Manager, the operation took place across various key locations in Noida.
During the inspection, a total of five vehicles were seized for unauthorized collection of mixed waste. The operation was led by senior manager Kapil Singh and manager Gaurav Shukla, with support from the authority’s police. The team evaluated waste collection and transportation practices at multiple sites, ensuring compliance with established regulations.
At the DLF Mall in Sector 18, inspectors discovered three vehicles illegally collecting mixed waste. Immediate action was taken, and all three were confiscated. The team then moved to Binge Central in Sector 62, where another unauthorized vehicle was found. This vehicle was also seized on the spot. A further inspection at I-Tham in Sector 62 revealed yet another unauthorized vehicle, which was similarly confiscated.
In total, the operation resulted in the seizure of five vehicles: three from DLF Mall, one from Binge Central, and one from I-Tham. The authority emphasized the importance of proper waste segregation and disposal procedures for bulk waste generators, stating that unauthorized collection of mixed waste would lead to strict penalties.
The Noida Authority reiterated its commitment to monitoring the segregation of wet and dry waste within the city. They urged citizens, markets, malls, and businesses to separate waste at the source and to utilize only authorized agencies for waste collection. Officials believe that with community cooperation, the city’s cleanliness can be significantly improved, effectively preventing unauthorized waste collection.
