Winning the toss and opting to bat first, New Zealand posted a total of 438 runs in their first innings. The opening partnership between captain Tom Latham and Devon Conway was remarkable, as they added 317 runs for the first wicket. Latham scored 151 runs, hitting 15 boundaries, while Conway contributed 157 runs, including 22 fours and 3 sixes. Additionally, Henry Nicholls scored 36 runs, and Tom Blundell added 30 runs to the team’s total.
