New Rail Service Approved Between Ramnagar and Dehradun, Anil Baluni Thanks Rail Minister

Dehradun, May 3: A significant boost to rail connectivity in Uttarakhand has been announced. Rajya Sabha member Anil Baluni expressed gratitude to Union Rail Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for the approval of a new train service between Ramnagar and Dehradun. He stated that this new service will enhance travel between Kumaon and Garhwal, directly benefiting the local population.

Baluni shared on the social media platform X that he received a letter from the Rail Minister confirming the operation of the new train service. He noted that this marks an important achievement in expanding Uttarakhand’s rail services.

He thanked Ashwini Vaishnaw for his positive response to the requests concerning rail facilities for the people of Uttarakhand. Baluni highlighted that the Rail Ministry has provided several new train services and important stops, making travel more convenient for the public.

He also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, stating that his tenure has been filled with development and achievements for Uttarakhand. Baluni mentioned that prior to the Ramnagar-Dehradun service, the state had already received significant rail services, including the Naini-Doon Express between Kathgodam and Dehradun, the Kotdwar to New Delhi service, and the Vande Bharat Express from Dehradun to Lucknow.

The introduction of the Ramnagar-Dehradun rail service will greatly facilitate travel for residents, saving both time and money. It is expected to promote tourism, business, and local connectivity.

In his letter to Baluni, Rail Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw confirmed the approval of the new train service, referring to the proposal sent on January 5, 2026. He emphasized that this decision is in the public interest and shared the formal details of the approval.
