New Delhi/Eitanagar, 2 January. The Ministry of Home Affairs on Friday issued transfer orders for two senior IPS officers. According to an official notification, Shiv Darshan Singh Jamwal, a 1995 batch officer, has been appointed as the new Police Director General (DGP) of Arunachal Pradesh, while Mukesh Singh, a 1996 batch officer, has been named the DGP of Ladakh.

Indian Police Service officer Anand Mohan, a 1994 batch officer and the current DGP of Arunachal Pradesh, has been transferred to Delhi. He is likely to be posted in the Delhi Police.

Before his new posting, Shiv Darshan Singh Jamwal was serving as the DGP of Ladakh. Mukesh Singh was on central deputation with the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP).

Prior to his central deputation, Mukesh Singh served as Inspector General of Police for the Jammu range. Originally from the Jammu and Kashmir cadre, he was later assigned to the Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram-Union Territories (AGMUT) cadre following the abrogation of Article 370 and the reorganisation of Jammu and Kashmir in 2019.

Before joining ITBP, Mukesh Singh held positions as Inspector General and Additional Director General of Police for the Jammu range.

All three IPS officers—Anand Mohan, Shiv Darshan Singh Jamwal, and Mukesh Singh—belong to the AGMUT cadre.

Anand Mohan was appointed DGP of Arunachal Pradesh in early June 2023 following official orders from the Ministry of Home Affairs. He succeeded Satish Golcha, a 1992 batch AGMUT cadre officer, who was transferred to Delhi.

On 7 June 2023, the Ministry of Home Affairs appointed Shiv Darshan Singh Jamwal as the Police Chief of the Union Territory of Ladakh.
