New Developments in Antilia Case: Former Police Chief Param Bir Singh Faces Allegations

In a recent NIA court hearing, retired ACP Bhimraj Ghadge seeks to make former police chief Param Bir Singh a co-accused in the Antilia case.

Mumbai, October 17 (Daily Kiran) : In a significant turn of events regarding the Antilia explosives case, a hearing took place on Saturday at the NIA court in Mumbai. Retired Assistant Commissioner of Police Bhimraj Ghadge’s petition seeks to designate former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh as a co-accused. The court session lasted for nearly an hour, marked by intense arguments.

Ghadge’s attorney, Nilesh Ojha, leveled serious accusations against Singh, claiming he submitted a false affidavit that interfered with judicial proceedings and misled the court. Ojha stated, “Today, we discussed the petition filed by retired ACP Bhimraj Ghadge, which calls for Param Bir Singh to be named a co-accused in the Antilia case. In response to our intervention petition, Singh submitted a counter affidavit containing two major errors and false statements.”

During the hearing, Ojha emphasized that under Section 340 of the CrPC (now Section 379 of the BNS), an accused has no right to speak when fraud is committed during court proceedings. He questioned why Singh submitted the affidavit when the court had not requested it in the first place.

Ojha further argued that Singh’s actions constituted an interference with the legal process, contradicting established laws set forth by the Bombay High Court and the Supreme Court. He called for a reference to be sent to the Bombay High Court regarding contempt of court against both Singh and his lawyer.

“Param Bir Singh was the mastermind behind the entire conspiracy,” Ojha asserted. He pointed out that they have submitted an affidavit to the CBI concerning the Sachin Vaze case, questioning how a subordinate officer could undertake such significant actions without the approval of a senior officer.

Ojha also remarked that Singh was instrumental in reinstating Vaze and appointing him as the head of the Crime Intelligence Unit. He noted that all parties involved were connected during investigations related to the Disha Salian case, the Sushant Singh Rajput case, and the arrest of Arnab Goswami.
