
Gandhinagar, March 18: On Tuesday, a delegation of members participating in the National Defence College (NDC) study program from New Delhi met with Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel in Gandhinagar.
The NDC conducts courses on national security and strategic studies for officers of the Indian Armed Forces at the Brigadier rank, joint secretaries of the civil service, director-level officials, and foreign military officers from partner countries.
This year, the study program, focused on Economic Security, includes a total of 122 officers: 61 from the Indian Armed Forces, 20 from the civil service, and 41 from partner foreign countries.
During their visit to Gujarat as part of a study tour of various states, the NDC delegation, led by Rear Admiral Sandeep Singh Sandhu, engaged in a meeting with Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. The group comprised military officials from all three branches of the Indian Army, as well as members from the Indian Revenue Service (IRS) and communication services.
During the meeting, NDC officials expressed keen interest in understanding Gujarat’s overall economic development, particularly regarding women’s empowerment, balanced economic growth, and rapid development. They engaged in an insightful dialogue with the Chief Minister on these topics.
CM Bhupendra Patel highlighted that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guidance, Gujarat has gained recognition as a policy-driven state and has become a role model for development. The Vibrant Summit has positioned Gujarat as a preferred destination for industries and investors worldwide. Under the Prime Minister’s leadership, Gujarat has successfully hosted the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference, promoting industrial growth, green growth, and balanced regional economic development.
The Chief Minister elaborated that the world’s tallest statue, the Statue of Unity, has boosted tourism, while the ‘Vocal for Local’ initiative has strengthened the local economy. The state’s comprehensive development has been facilitated by 24-hour uninterrupted electricity, improved road infrastructure, and a vast canal network that delivers Narmada water to Kutch.
CM Bhupendra Patel also noted the Prime Minister’s commitment to economic and social development, emphasizing that every plan is designed with the common citizen at its core. Furthermore, by adopting a saturation approach, the goal of achieving 100% success in delivering benefits to the intended beneficiaries is being realized under his guidance.
The meeting included the Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary Sanjeev Kumar and Additional Principal Secretary Dr. Vikrant Pandey.
