New Delhi, September : Vedanta’s flagship social impact initiative Nand Ghar has launched Poshan Maah 2025, a nationwide campaign aimed at promoting nutrition, health, and early education across rural India. The month-long programme, themed “Poshan Se Pragati”, will reach more than 3.5 lakh families in 15 states, in collaboration with the Ministry of Women and Child Development.

The campaign focuses on raising awareness, encouraging healthy practices, and promoting sustainable nutrition solutions to tackle malnutrition in India’s villages.

Key Focus Areas of Nand Ghar’s Nutrition Strategy

  • Direct Nutrition Support: Providing fortified supplements, nutrition bars, and protein shakes, along with access to government nutrition schemes.

  • Community Awareness: Training parents, monitoring child growth, and encouraging use of local, sustainable food practices.

  • Technology and Partnerships: Using modern tools and collaborations to track children’s progress and deliver innovative food solutions.

Activities Under Poshan Maah 2025

From 12 September onwards, Nand Ghars across the country will serve as community hubs for nutrition awareness. Activities include recipe demonstrations using low-cost, locally available ingredients, parental training sessions on maternal health and child growth, and the “Poshan Bhi, Padhai Bhi” campaign linking balanced diets with better learning outcomes. Fortified supplements will also be distributed to rural children.

Street plays in local dialects, expert-led webinars, and digital campaigns will further amplify the message.

Commenting on the initiative, Nand Ghar CEO Shashi Arora said, “Poshan Maah reminds us of the critical role nutrition plays in India’s progress. Our mission is to ensure every rural child and mother has access to proper nutrition and knowledge, enabling them to build a healthy future.”

Addressing India’s Nutrition Challenge

The initiative comes at a crucial time, as per NFHS-5 data, 37.5% of children under six are stunted, while 50% of women of reproductive age are anaemic. Nand Ghar’s model has already shown measurable results — during Poshan Maah 2024, over one lakh millet shakes were distributed in six states, and the recently launched Project Balvardhan in Rajasthan has reached more than 80,000 children and mothers with targeted health and nutrition support.

By expanding its reach in 2025, Nand Ghar aims to strengthen community-based practices, promote local foods, and deliver balanced nutrition to every child.
