Modi Launches Bengaluru-Mumbai Vande Bharat Sleeper Train, Calling It a Game Changer for Connectivity

PM Modi inaugurated the Bengaluru-Mumbai Vande Bharat sleeper train, enhancing connectivity and benefiting travelers across multiple states.

New Delhi, November 1 (Daily Kiran) : Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the launch of the Bengaluru-Mumbai Vande Bharat sleeper train on November 1, describing it as a significant advancement in travel speed between the two major cities. He emphasized that this initiative would be a “game changer” for connectivity in India.

In a post on social media platform X, Modi shared his enthusiasm for the new service, highlighting its importance for improving rail connectivity. He noted that the train would particularly benefit passengers from Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Maharashtra, offering a convenient travel option for youth, IT professionals, and students.

Modi praised Bengaluru as a hub of technology and innovation, stating that the new rail service would strengthen the country’s modern transportation network. The train is designed to provide modern amenities and an enhanced travel experience for long-distance journeys.

Earlier, the Ministry of Railways announced that Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw flagged off the train along with other dignitaries. This service aims to revolutionize long-distance rail travel in India.

On the same day, Vaishnaw revealed that Prime Minister Modi had approved the northern corridor of the country’s bullet train network. During the inauguration of the Vande Bharat sleeper express from Varanasi to New Delhi, he explained that this corridor would connect major cities, including Delhi, Agra, Kanpur, Lucknow, Ayodhya, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Patna, and Siliguri, extending further to Guwahati.

The minister projected significant reductions in travel times once the project is completed. For instance, the journey from Delhi to Agra is expected to take just 59 minutes, while Delhi to Kanpur will be reduced to 1 hour and 45 minutes.

Vaishnaw also addressed opposition claims that the bullet train would only serve affluent individuals, asserting that the fare would be affordable and accessible to the general public. He reiterated the government’s commitment to developing a fast, modern, and accessible transportation system for all citizens.
