Merchants Urged to Display Identities During Kanwar Yatra to Avoid Confusion

Meerut, August 5: Sachin Sirohi, the president of the All India Hindu Security Organization, announced a special campaign aimed at preventing disputes during the Kanwar Yatra. He emphasized the importance of merchants publicly displaying their true identities to avoid any confusion among devotees.

In an interview with a news agency, Sirohi revealed that on Tuesday, organization members visited the Pallavpuram police station area in Meerut. During their visit, they discovered a meat shop operating discreetly. The organization urged the shop owner to comply with directives from the administration and the Uttar Pradesh government, which mandated the closure of meat shops along the Kanwar route.

Sirohi accused the shop owner of making excuses. He stated that if the administration has ordered the closure of chicken and meat shops, those orders must be strictly followed.

He also noted that a fruit vendor was present at the same location, and through a barcode, they identified the vendor as Javed. Sirohi claimed that the vendor had not disclosed his identity. Following viral videos on social media showing incidents of spitting on fruits, public concern has increased. Therefore, all merchants should clearly display their true identities.

He added that if someone’s name is Javed, Usman, or anything else, they should operate their business under that name. There should be no objection to anyone’s identity, but conducting business while concealing one’s identity is inappropriate. There should be no deception, and the purity of food for devotees during the Kanwar Yatra must be ensured.

Sirohi also mentioned that some individuals traveling from Meerut to Haridwar for the Kanwar Yatra should wear saffron clothing in accordance with Hindu religious traditions. This practice would help maintain respect for religious beliefs. He alleged that some eateries along the route are operating under Hindu names while being run by members of the Muslim community. He deemed this wrong, insisting that true identities should be revealed and that the administration must take necessary action.
