Mehbooba Muftis Daughter Praises LG Manoj Sinha for Anti-Drug Initiatives in Jammu and Kashmir

Srinagar, May 4: Iltija Mufti, daughter of PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti, has expressed her appreciation for the actions taken by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha in response to the escalating drug crisis in Jammu and Kashmir. She highlighted that the growing problem of substance abuse has devastated lives and ruined many families in the region.

Iltija Mufti took to social media platform X to voice her concerns, stating that the rising drug crisis poses a serious challenge to society. She commended LG Manoj Sinha‘s efforts to combat addiction and the associated narco-economy.

While recognizing the commendable actions against drug abuse, she urged the government to initiate a comprehensive rehabilitation program to treat and reintegrate those affected by addiction. She emphasized that the campaign against drugs should not be limited to narcotics alone but should also address alcohol addiction to provide broader relief to society.

It is noteworthy that LG Manoj Sinha has spearheaded a campaign against drugs, delivering a significant message from the TRC Stadium in Srinagar. He mentioned that thousands of people united to march, sending a clear message against addiction and narco-terrorism. This public movement strengthens the hope that Jammu and Kashmir can be liberated from the grip of drugs.

The Lieutenant Governor stated that the fight against addiction is not only taking place on the streets but also in homes. He emphasized that the commitment made today is not just a personal promise but a call from every mother who has seen her child destroyed by addiction, and a solemn pledge from every father who has watched his dreams crumble under the weight of substance abuse.

He also noted that this is a commitment from teachers who have witnessed their students’ talents and potential being wasted due to addiction. Manoj Sinha declared that the resolve to eradicate drugs is not merely an administrative announcement but a collective determination from the public, which, after enduring decades of suffering, is now saying enough is enough.
