
Meerut, September 7 (Daily Kiran) : In a significant breakthrough, Meerut police in Uttar Pradesh apprehended Monu, also known as Prashant Kumar, on Monday. He is identified as the mastermind behind a solver gang that infiltrated competitive exams across various states. Authorities had announced a reward of ₹20,000 for information leading to his capture.
Monu allegedly orchestrated cheating schemes by employing solvers and other illicit methods during examinations. Reports indicate that he faces multiple charges in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and other states.
His arrest was the result of a coordinated effort between the Civil Lines police and the SWAT team. The police revealed that Monu had been on the run since 2025, following a case filed by the Special Task Force (STF). Investigators are currently interrogating him to uncover details about his gang and the broader network involved in the exam fraud.
SSP Meerut, BBGTGS Murti, confirmed the arrest, noting the successful collaboration between the police teams. Monu was wanted for his role in a paper leak incident in 2023, and his capture marks a significant step in combating organized crime related to competitive examinations. The police team involved in the operation has been commended, and plans are in place to reward their efforts.
