
Purnia, August 30: A grand job fair was organized in Purnia, Bihar, on Sunday, aimed at providing employment opportunities to the youth. Initiated by local MP Rajesh Ranjan, also known as Pappu Yadav, the event took place at Indira Gandhi Stadium. Young people from Purnia and surrounding districts, including Araria, Madhepura, Saharsa, Supaul, and Katihar, attended in large numbers. The organizers set a target of offering job opportunities to around 20,000 youths through this fair.
Representatives from various companies and institutions conducted interviews with candidates, assessing their educational qualifications, skills, and experience. Different counters were set up in the stadium for document verification. After checking educational certificates and other necessary documents, selected candidates were called to the stage to receive offer letters and appointment letters. Long queues of eager youths were visible from early morning.
Among the job seekers, a significant number of young women participated. The organizers provided work-from-home opportunities specifically for women. The joy was evident on the faces of selected candidates as they received their appointment letters.
MP Pappu Yadav stated that after providing jobs to around 20,000 youths in Purnia, preparations are underway for a larger job fair in Patna. He claimed that the goal for Patna is to connect approximately 25,000 youths with employment. He emphasized that providing jobs to the youth is one of his top priorities and that efforts are being made to bring companies and employment providers together on a single platform.
He remarked that there is no shortage of talent and capability among the youth of Bihar. The need is to provide them with opportunities that match their qualifications. The job fair aims to create a direct link between local youths and companies.
Opportunities were available for candidates with various educational qualifications, including eighth grade, twelfth grade, intermediate, ITI, undergraduate, postgraduate, BCA, and MBA. Candidates were instructed to bring their educational certificates, resumes, and passport-sized photographs. The fair offered job opportunities in sectors such as IT, banking, automotive, insurance, hospitality, manufacturing, retail, sales, and marketing. Company officials and representatives personally attended the stadium to interview candidates and participate in the selection process.
The significant turnout of youths kept Indira Gandhi Stadium bustling throughout the day. Document verification, interviews, and selection processes were ongoing at various counters. This job fair in Purnia is seen as a vital initiative to connect local youths with new employment opportunities. There is also growing excitement among youths regarding the proposed large job fair in Patna.
