
Mumbai, August 9: The upcoming week is crucial for the Indian stock market. Influential factors include the U.S.-Iran tensions, first-quarter results, crude oil prices, and domestic economic indicators.
From August 10 to 14, several companies will be in focus, including Skygold, Bosch, Bombay Dyeing, Dollar, DBL, ITDC, Vodafone Idea, IdeaForge, Hindustan Copper, Linde India, V-Guard, GE, Bata India, EPACK, EPL, IFCI, JNK India, among others.
Investors will also be closely monitoring the ongoing tensions between the U.S. and Iran. Currently, hostilities have paused, keeping crude oil prices around $83.
Next week, retail and wholesale inflation figures will be released. These inflation metrics provide insights into market demand and supply, making them critical for stock market investors.
Additionally, the past week has been favorable for the Indian stock market. The Nifty closed at 24,570.65, gaining 187.05 points or 0.77%, while the Sensex ended at 78,499.17, up 404.53 points or 0.52%.
Midcap and small-cap stocks also performed well. The Nifty Midcap 100 index rose by 548.25 points or 0.87%, reaching 63,463.55, while the Nifty Smallcap 100 index increased by 528.15 points or 2.73%, closing at 19,867.80.
Among the indices, the Nifty PSU Bank was the top gainer, up 5.01%. Other notable gainers included Nifty India Defense at 4.30%, Nifty Metal at 3.70%, Nifty Auto at 3.14%, Nifty IT at 2.73%, Nifty India Manufacturing at 2.04%, Nifty Commodities at 1.32%, Nifty Infra at 1.01%, and Nifty FMCG at 0.64%.
Conversely, the Nifty Media index fell by 3.94%, while Nifty Realty, Nifty Financial Services, Nifty Private Bank, and Nifty Healthcare declined by 1.72%, 0.48%, 0.47%, and 0.28%, respectively.
