Mamata Banerjee Calls for Unity Against BJP at Delhi Rally
Mamata Banerjee urges opposition unity against BJP at a major rally in Delhi, emphasizing the need to protect democracy.

New Delhi, November 1 (Daily Kiran) : In a powerful address at the ‘Desh Bachao Maharally’ held at Ram Leela Maidan in New Delhi, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee criticized the central government led by the BJP. The event, organized under the leadership of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, saw key opposition figures come together to discuss their collective stance against the ruling party.
Banerjee emphasized the necessity for opposition parties to unite to safeguard democracy. “They tell us to stay home; they have placed us under house arrest. I say, those who fight earn their lives. Those who are afraid die. Those who are non-believers live in fear every day,” she stated. She urged everyone to rally against the BJP, declaring, “The slogan for the coming times is ‘Save India, Save Democracy.'”
She further accused the BJP of exploiting West Bengal and vowed, “We will not back down. We will fight. While there has been looting in Bengal, we will not allow it in Delhi. We will protect democracy.” Banerjee claimed that the BJP’s actions have led to the erosion of democratic values, stating, “The government has stolen EVMs, democracy, the Constitution, and people’s rights.”
Criticizing the Election Commission and the central government, she remarked, “They have hijacked the elections. We have not lost; we have been defeated.” Banerjee also took a jab at the BJP’s slogan of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ by saying it has now become ‘BJP ka Saath, Sabka Vinash.’
As the rally concluded, she called upon the youth and Gen Z to raise their voices in defense of democracy. In a light-hearted moment, she recited a poem mocking BJP leader Gyanesh Kumar, further energizing the crowd.
Banerjee’s passionate speech reflects the growing sentiment among opposition leaders to challenge the BJP’s governance as they prepare for upcoming elections.
