Malwa Festival Celebrates Cultural Unity and Employment Opportunities

Indore, May 9: Chief Minister Mohan Yadav emphasized that the Malwa Festival is not just a fair but a platform for unity, warmth, and cultural integration. He noted that this annual event is celebrating its silver jubilee this year.

Yadav praised the festival, highlighting that artists from various states are showcasing the country’s cultural diversity through their performances. He addressed the Malwa Festival organized by the Lok Sanskriti Manch in Indore.

The Chief Minister described the vibrant atmosphere of the festival, where performances of Bhangra, Garba, and other folk dances created a heavenly ambiance. This grand cultural event, marking its silver jubilee, featured artists from different provinces who captivated the audience with folk dances and cultural presentations.

He mentioned that events like the Malwa Festival provide employment and strengthen the economy for many, including small artists, artisans, vendors, and stall operators. Yadav referred to both the Malwa Festival and the Mango Jatra as symbols of social harmony and cultural coordination. He announced a financial aid of 500,000 rupees to the Lok Sanskriti Manch for their silver jubilee celebrations.

At the event, CM Mohan Yadav was traditionally welcomed by folk dance troupes. The program showcased delightful performances of folk dances from various states, including Garba and Bhangra. The festival also featured stalls displaying handicrafts, artworks, and delicious cuisines from Malwa and other regions.

On the same day, the Chief Minister attended the three-day Mango Jatra organized by the Marathi Social Group at the rural market complex in Indore. He visited various stalls and interacted with mango-producing farmers, appreciating their efforts while learning about the unique qualities of the mangoes. This special event highlighted the renowned Hapus (Alphonso) mangoes from Ratnagiri and Devgad in Maharashtra.

He stated that the state government is celebrating this year as the ‘Farmer Welfare Year.’ He noted that the arrival of Hapus mangoes, known for their reputation across the country, in Indore symbolizes internal unity.

CM Mohan Yadav announced an incentive of 11,000 rupees for 24 mango-producing farmers. The farmers shared that they have been bringing mangoes to the Mango Jatra for the past 15 years.
