Maltas Deputy PM Ian Borg Welcomed at 11th Raisina Dialogue in New Delhi

New Delhi, March 4: The 11th Raisina Dialogue in New Delhi warmly welcomed Ian Borg, Malta’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Tourism.

The Ministry of External Affairs announced this on the X platform, stating, “We extend a heartfelt welcome to Ian Borg for participating in the 11th Raisina Dialogue. India and Malta share a friendly and strong relationship, rooted in robust people-to-people connections.”

His participation in this prestigious global conference is seen as a sign of the growing diplomatic and strategic cooperation between India and Malta. The Raisina Dialogue brings together leaders, policymakers, and experts from around the world to discuss contemporary global challenges.

India and Malta have enjoyed long-standing friendly and cordial relations, based on mutual respect, democratic values, and strong ties among their people. Cooperation in areas such as education, trade, maritime collaboration, and tourism continues to expand. Malta is regarded as a key partner for India in Europe and the Mediterranean region.

During Ian Borg’s visit, discussions are expected to focus on strengthening bilateral relations, increasing investments, and exploring new avenues for cooperation in tourism.

Malta’s strategic geographical position and its membership in the European Union make it a potential gateway for Indian companies, while India’s vast market and rapidly growing economy present opportunities for Malta.
