Ranchi, August 3: The state CID has initiated significant action in the investigation of irregularities surrounding the 14th Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) preliminary examination. Starting Monday morning, various teams conducted simultaneous raids at over 20 locations across multiple districts, including Ranchi, Dhanbad, Bokaro, Deoghar, Godda, Ramgarh, Hazaribagh, and Palamu.
These raids targeted several coaching institutions operating in areas like Dhurwa and Namkum in Ranchi, as well as the residences of individuals connected to these institutions. The focus is on individuals and entities identified during the ongoing investigation or suspected to be linked to the examination process.
The investigation teams have seized documents, computers, laptops, mobile phones, digital storage devices, and other electronic equipment from various locations. Important documents and digital evidence have also been collected for forensic analysis.
Previously, the CID had raided the JPSC office and the office of the examination conducting agency, TDPL, confiscating numerous documents and electronic records related to the examination process. So far, 11 individuals connected to the commission and the examination process have been arrested. The scope of the investigation continues to expand based on the interrogations of these individuals.
In this context, the former president of JPSC and the state’s former chief secretary, L. Khyangte, has been questioned multiple times. He has been summoned again for questioning on Monday. The investigation agency is working to connect facts related to examination management, question paper handling, evaluation processes, and other aspects. Based on the analysis of the seized documents and digital data, new revelations may emerge in the coming days, potentially leading to actions against several individuals.
It is noteworthy that following the announcement of the results of the 14th JPSC preliminary examination, candidates have been protesting against alleged irregularities. Students in Ranchi continue to demand the cancellation of the examination and a fair investigation.
