Washington, March 2: Tensions have escalated in various parts of the Middle East following a coordinated attack by the United States and Israel on Iran. The assault has resulted in significant destruction within Iran. U.S. President Donald Trump announced that American forces have destroyed and sunk nine Iranian naval vessels, intensifying confrontations with Tehran.
In a post on the social media platform ‘Truth’, President Trump stated, “I just learned that we have destroyed and sunk nine Iranian naval ships, some of which are quite large and significant. We are pursuing the others; they too will soon be resting at the bottom of the sea. In a separate attack, we have largely devastated their naval headquarters. Additionally, their navy is performing very well.”
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) also confirmed via their official ‘X’ account that “all major terrorist leaders of Iran’s axis of terror have been eliminated.”
The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed extensive air operations overnight. They reported, “Last night, American B-2 stealth bombers targeted Iran’s robust ballistic missile facilities with 2,000-pound bombs. No nation should ever doubt America’s resolve.”
CENTCOM also noted that during the initiation of “Operation Epic Fury,” an Iranian Jamaran-class corvette was attacked. The command stated that the vessel is currently sinking near Chabahar Pier in the Gulf of Oman.
Referencing Trump’s earlier warning, CENTCOM urged members of the Iranian armed forces, IRGC, and police to surrender their weapons. The military command dismissed Tehran’s claim that its response was limited to American military bases.
CENTCOM accused Iran of “actively targeting civilians” and reported attacks on over a dozen locations, including Dubai International Airport, Kuwait International Airport, Zayed International Airport (Dubai), Erbil International Airport in Iraq, the Fairmont Palm Hotel in Dubai, the Burj Al Arab Hotel in Dubai, the Crown Plaza Hotel in Bahrain, Dubai Port, Haifa Oil Refinery, residential areas in Beit Shemesh and Tel Aviv, residential areas in Bahrain’s Era Views Towers, and residential areas in Qatar.
