Authorities in Nagpur seized 3.01 kg of amphetamines worth ₹2.4 crore from a bus traveling from Delhi to Bengaluru. Two suspects were arrested.

Nagpur, October 30 (Daily Kiran) : The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) in Nagpur has successfully uncovered a significant interstate drug trafficking operation. On October 28, officials seized 3.01 kilograms of amphetamines valued at approximately ₹2.4 crore from a bus traveling from Delhi to Bengaluru.
Acting on a tip-off, the DRI team intercepted the bus at the Bhagirathi toll plaza on NH-47. During the search, officers examined the luggage of two passengers and noticed that three ladies’ suits appeared unusually heavy. Upon investigation, they discovered white pouches filled with a crystal-like substance wrapped in transparent plastic inside the suits. Field tests confirmed the substance as amphetamine.
The total haul amounted to 3.01 kilograms of the drug, with a street value estimated at ₹2.4 crore. The DRI seized the drugs under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act of 1985 and arrested both passengers. They were presented in court on October 29.
The DRI stated that this operation is a crucial step in combating organized drug trafficking across state borders, reinforcing the central government’s commitment to a “Narcotics-Free India.” Further investigations and formal proceedings related to this case are ongoing.
