Etah, October 9 (Daily Kiran) : A significant operation against counterfeit dairy products unfolded in Etah, Uttar Pradesh, on October 9. A joint team from the Lucknow headquarters and the district food safety department conducted a raid at Sapna Dairy, located in the Barathar village of the Kotwali Dehat police jurisdiction. During the operation, officials discovered a substantial quantity of adulterated cheese and ingredients used for its production.
The inspection revealed approximately 10 quintals of finished cheese, one quintal of ghee, and around 40 quintals of cream. Additionally, a large amount of adulteration materials was seized, including 96 kilograms of skimmed milk powder, eight bags of soybean, six tins of refined palm oil, and seven packets of Rani Pal.
According to food department officials, they received a tip-off about the production of synthetic cheese at Sapna Dairy on Barathra Road. Acting on this information, the headquarters squad and district team executed the raid. Upon inspection, the quality of the cheese raised suspicions, prompting food safety officials to take immediate action to destroy the product.
The nearly 10 quintals of cheese were disposed of on-site by burying them in a pit dug by a JCB machine. All raw materials and other adulterated items were sealed. The team collected ten different samples from the dairy, which are being sent to a laboratory for testing. Further legal action will follow based on the lab results.
