
Guwahati, May 12: Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has extended his congratulations to Himanta Biswa Sarma on his swearing-in as Chief Minister. Shinde arrived in Guwahati on Monday night to attend the oath-taking ceremony, where he wished Sarma success in his new term.
Shinde expressed that the people of Assam are pleased with the recent election results, highlighting a historic victory with 102 seats won. He commended the citizens of Assam for their support, stating, “I congratulate Himanta Biswa Sarma on being sworn in as Chief Minister for the second time. The people of Assam have shown their trust in PM Modi’s vision of a self-reliant India and the double-engine government.”
He noted that the strategies employed by Home Minister Amit Shah, which proved effective in West Bengal, have also worked in Assam. The victories in both states are significant. Shinde emphasized that the development achieved in Assam over the past five years was a key issue for voters. He thanked the people of Assam and mentioned that under PM Modi’s leadership, Sarma has the opportunity to further develop the state.
Shinde also acknowledged the blessings of Maa Kamakhya Devi, stating that there is a longstanding bond between Assam and Maharashtra. He recalled their stay at the same hotel four years ago, where Sarma and his team played a crucial role. This collaboration led to the formation of the Mahayuti coalition government in Maharashtra, which has been at the forefront of development.
He reiterated that Sarma’s government will receive the blessings of Maa Kamakhya Devi once again, promising improvements in law and order, job creation, and overall development in Assam.
