Maha Cong Chief Patole blames modi for LPG cost

Pune Apr ( ): prime minister Narendra Modi, who calls himself as Vishwaguru, has made India number one in the world in atleast one thing . Modi, who has shown the dreams of becoming a superpower, has set a new record by raising the price of LPG in India. With this hike, LPG in the country is the highest in the world, said Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee President Nana Patole. Slamming the Modi government on the issue of inflation, Nana Patole said that at present the country has to pay Rs. 1000 for a LPG cylinder and a commercial cylinder is being sold at Rs 2250 The price of petrol in the country is the third highest in the world and price of diesel stands at the eighth position. Compared to per capita income, Indian citizens have to spend 28% of their income on fuel. The huge increase in petrol, diesel and gas prices is putting a strain on the budget of the general public. Compared to developed countries, Indian citizens have to spend more on fuel. Due to the wrong policies of the Modi government, the general public reeling under the effects of hike in fuel prices. Making false promises of ‘Ache Din’ and making India a superpower but none of these poll slogans have come true, said Patole in a press statement here today. However, in the case of inflation, the country is leading. Today, CNG has been increased by Rs 5 and G by Rs 4.50. During the Dr. Manmohan Singh-led UPA government, the same LPG was priced at Rs 410, while petrol was priced at Rs 72 per litre. The UPA government has always been keen to ensure that the common man is protected from the heat of inflation. But in the Modi government, the interests of a few industrialist friends are taken care of more than the people, Patole said in a release. During the 8 years of Modi government, the prices of crude oil in the international market have been steadily declining. These prices had come down to 18 dollar per barrel. At an eight-year average, crude oil prices are at 60 dollar a barrel. But the Modi government looted the common man by raising taxes on fuel. During the UPA regime, the tax on petrol was Rs 9.48 till 2014 and Rs 3.56 on diesel. Road infrastructure tax was Rs 1. During the Modi government, Rs 32.90 is being levied on petrol, Rs 31.80 on diesel and Rs 18 on road tax, Rs 2 on agriculture cess and Rs 4.50 cess on petrol and diesel. By imposing such a huge tax, the Modi government has taken Rs 26 lakh crore out of the pockets of the common man. Inflation is not limited to fuel but cement, iron ore and bricks have also become more expensive. The prices of 810 medicines have gone up by atleast 10 per cent. Inflation is at 6.95 per cent and will go up to 10 per cent by next year, but the government is hiding the figures. “Inflation is impacting the people, it has made life difficult for the common man, therefore Hindu-Muslim riots, religious issues are being taken up by Modi government,” Patole said in release.
