Maha: 219 students from Maharashtra return from Ukraine

Aurangabad, Mar 4 : on Minister of State for Finance Dr Bhagwat Karad on Friday welcomed 219 students who were brought safely to Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi this morning via Roach from Romania. In his tweet Dr Karad stated that, the IndiGo Flight No. 6E9542 departed from Bucharest in Romania and landed at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi at 0630 hours on Friday. The Government of India has safely repatriated 219 students who were mostly from Maharashtra state. On this occasion Maharashtra Resident Commissioner Rajesh Pawar and Rajesh Harne were present at the airport to check out the facilities made available for the students and other arrangements. Most of the students thanked Prime Minister Modi for initiating operation Ganga’ to bring back all those stranded in Ukraine and other neighbouring countries, Dr Karad Tweeted. The war between Ukraine and Russia is raging and approximately 17,000 Indian are believed to be stranded in the war-torn country. Prime Minister Modi has given responsibility to four on Ministers including Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas sent to Hungary, Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraje Scindia to Romania, Minister of Law and Justice Kiran Rijiju to Slovakia and Gen V K Singh to Poland to help repatriate stranded Indians under Operation Ganga back to India, the statement added.
