Madhya Pradesh Government Announces 2% Hike in Dearness Allowance for Employees

The Madhya Pradesh government has declared a 2% increase in dearness allowance for employees, effective January 2026.

Bhopal, October 30 (Daily Kiran) : The Madhya Pradesh government has decided to increase the dearness allowance (DA) for its employees and officers by 2%. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced this update on the social media platform X.

This increase will take effect from January 2026, providing relief to millions of state employees. According to the announcement, the arrears for the nine months from January to September will be paid in three equal monthly installments. The enhanced dearness allowance will be paid in cash along with the October salary, which is scheduled for disbursement in November.

Pensioners will also benefit from this decision, as their dearness allowance will see a 2% increase starting July 2026. The government emphasized its commitment to safeguarding the interests of both serving and retired employees. This measure aims to alleviate the financial burden on employees amid rising inflation.

Recently, the central government also raised the dearness allowance for its employees. Officials noted that this increase aligns with the formula linked to the All India Consumer Price Index, indicating the government’s intent to regularly adjust allowances based on inflation trends.

Employees across various departments, including education, health, police, and revenue, will benefit from the revised dearness allowance rates. The cash payment of the increased allowance will be made with the October salary, while the arrears will be paid in installments to manage the financial burden on the state treasury.

Pensioners can expect to receive the revised dearness allowance starting in July 2026. The government reiterated that the welfare of retired employees remains a priority, with regular adjustments planned.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to ensuring that employees and pensioners receive their entitled benefits without unnecessary delays. The finance department is expected to issue detailed official orders soon, outlining the exact rates and implementation methods to facilitate smooth payments across all departments.
