Madhya Pradesh Farmers Receive Over ₹10,000 Crore for Wheat Procurement

Bhopal, May 9: Wheat procurement continues in Madhya Pradesh, with 9.38 lakh farmers selling a total of 56.45 lakh metric tons of wheat. The state has disbursed ₹10,403.17 crore to these farmers.

Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Protection Minister Govind Singh Rajput reported that the procurement process has been efficient. To facilitate this, the time for issuing weighing slips has been extended from 6 PM to 10 PM, and payment issuance has been pushed to midnight.

Wheat procurement occurs six days a week, from Monday to Saturday. The number of weighing scales at each procurement center has increased from four to six, and districts have been granted the authority to further increase this number.

Additionally, the capacity and number of NIC servers have been enhanced. The food department is monitoring procurement on an hourly basis. Farmers are receiving ₹2,585 per quintal as the support price, along with a bonus of ₹40 per quintal from the state government, totaling ₹2,625 per quintal.

Arrangements for necessary gunny bags for wheat procurement at the support price have been made. The procured wheat is being stored safely using jute bags and other suitable materials to ensure secure storage.
