LG Manoj Sinha Advocates for Strong Professional Community in Jammu

Jammu, March 25: Jammu and Kashmir’s Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, attended the inauguration ceremony of the Jammu chapter of the Indian Society for Training and Development (ISTD) on Wednesday at Padma Shri Padma Sachdev Government Women’s Postgraduate College in Gandhinagar, Jammu.

He urged stakeholders to collaborate and create an environment that fosters a robust professional community. Sinha emphasized the importance of prioritizing teamwork and networking, sharing best practices, and leveraging national and international experiences through joint training programs.

“The challenges we face today are complex and multifaceted. Their solutions can only be achieved through collective efforts, and we must focus on actively promoting the rapid development of Jammu and Kashmir,” he stated.

The Lieutenant Governor highlighted the need for individuals from various sectors to come together, share experiences, and collaboratively seek solutions. Through cooperation and dialogue, a strong, inclusive development model can be established for the Union Territory.

Sinha congratulated the entire ISTD team on this new beginning, stating that the Jammu branch would play a crucial role in strengthening the ecosystem of education and development, positioning Jammu as a regional hub for training and professional growth.

He directed the ISTD Jammu branch to focus on job creation and entrepreneurship while enhancing the global competitiveness of local talent. “The future is filled with challenges but also abundant opportunities. We must ensure we are ready to seize new opportunities,” he added.

The Lieutenant Governor emphasized that the purpose of education extends beyond imparting knowledge; it is also about preparing students for life’s challenges and opportunities. He called for a focus on skill development, research, entrepreneurship, and a startup culture, urging the education sector to bring about significant changes through guidance and collaboration with the industry.

He encouraged ISTD members to pay special attention to training, research, and collaboration within Jammu and Kashmir’s industries, startups, and agricultural sectors to strengthen productivity and market connectivity.

Sinha remarked that the entire industrial framework is evolving. Given the ongoing changes, it is essential to invest continuously in new skills to enhance productivity in Jammu and Kashmir’s industrial landscape. Farmers need training in modern technology, scientific methods, and resource management to understand climate change, water crises, and soil quality. They should also be trained to produce more crops with fewer resources and market their products more effectively.

The LG stated that administration is the backbone of any nation. Today, citizens expect transparency, accountability, and efficiency. The administrative system must evolve with time and become entirely citizen-centric. We must empower individuals and institutions to face emerging challenges head-on, realizing India’s dream of becoming the greatest nation in the world. Universities and institutions must collaborate with ISTD to bring this vision to fruition.

He concluded by asserting that amidst all changes, one truth remains constant. The most powerful tool for transformation for any state, nation, or institution is not just technology, capital, or natural resources, but a trained, developed, and awakened mind. The true means of change is a trained, developed professional mindset. Trained human resources will be the foundation of our progress, the energy of our inclusive development, and the real medium to shape the future.
